Let's Start Healing

Jan 17, 2020

Atlanta-based singer Eileen Howard joins the Let's Start Healing podcast with Adrianne  Murchison. Eileen is active on the New York and Atlanta scenes as a noted jazz and blues vocalist. She is one of those rare entertainers with the sensitivity and flair to deeply evoke the human condition in her work.

In this episode, Eileen shares her journey in a 12-step recovery program, her spiritual practice and how she experiences God through her natural gift to sing.

Eileen has received critical acclaim and exceptionally positive reviews as a recording artist. She has released five CDs: All Kinds of Weather, Street of Dreams, MakeOver, Blues in the Green Room (her live Blues Cabaret album) and, most recently, Big City Love.

An award-winning actress, Eileen has appeared in dozens of plays and musical theater productions in Ohio, New York and Atlanta, receiving many critical accolades along the way.

Coming from a family steeped in music and social action, her parents were deeply involved in the Civil Rights movement. Marching with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., in Chicago, is one of her formative memories as a child that helped instill her passion for social justice. Throughout her life, living all over the world, she has worked to make the world a better place and uses her music in ministries with those on the margins at soup kitchens, food pantries and community arts access programs.
